Single-quire Coptic codices
These are copies of 3 different types of the Nag Hammadi codices that were found in Egypt. The originals are some of the oldest books that have been found, dating from the 3rd and 4th century AD, and they contained religious texts.
When I made these copies I did not take into consideration the original colors of the leather or the fact that the textblocks were originally made of papyrus. Anyway, they were fun to make! I should have chosen a softer leather though. Trial and error ;)
