Made and used as protection from sunlight and stuff like that for books. It is made to replicate the books look.

Materials: leather, marbled paper, board, glue.

Modern Half Leather Binding with French Technique

The last assignment book of French half leather bindings! This means you will finally be getting to see some other stuff from me from now on :) For example, now we are working on whole/full (i don’t know how to say it in english) leather bindings, still French though. Haha :) Can’t wait till next semester…. historic bookbinding!!

My first Modern French binding!
Extremely difficult to make everything look good with this technique, but when you manage to do it right you can&#8217;t make anything finer really.
I used a lovely blue leather and my own paste marbled paper.
